I always love to write up a summary of my blog posts for the year. Part of that is because it always helps confirm what I’ve always believed–you don’t need to be a niche account. If you are, that’s great! However, one of the ways that I avoid blogger burnout is by blogging about all the things that interest me. I love Pinterest and it’s always interesting to see what’s trending on the search platform. It’s been kind of a weird year for my on Pinterest as I ended up suspending my tailwind subscription. Navigating the world of manual pinning and trying to thrive on Pinterest has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’m still undecided if I’ll renew my subscription to Tailwind or not. Regardless, here are my top 3 pins from 2021! Keep in mind that these aren’t necessarily pins I created in 2021, but just what was the most viewed and pinned.
blog goals for 2022
I looked back at my last yearly recap on the blog and remembered that I had written down my goals for the coming year so I thought I would again. Last year’s goals were:
- Double my pageviews from 2020 by posting consistently and more frequently during higher traffic times. I did NOT reach this goal, in fact, my pageviews were lower than in 2020. I even posted more frequently during my higher traffic times but it didn’t help.
- Lower my bounce rate by improving SEO. I’ve been working on SEO and when I compare this year to last year even though my pageviews went down my bounce rate and retention was better!
I’m keeping my goal list for 2022 short and simple too:
- Double my 2021 pageviews by posting consistently and marketing those posts better, including more pins per post on Pinterest.
- Reach 2 million impressions on Pinterest by posting more consistently and making more Idea Pins.
- Book 6 travel collaborations. It became an unofficial goal last year to book 5 and I was able to surpass that and partner with 7!
