I’ve been blogging for 13 years and I can tell you it’s been quite a ride. No one really knows what it’s like to be a blogger except for other bloggers. I’ve learned so much over the years and made so many great connections and that’s really how the Magical Media Retreat was born. The Magical Media Retreat is an opportunity for bloggers and content creators of all levels to come together to fellowship and learn. Together with my friends Jenny from Princess Turned Mom and Kim from The Parentologist we’re bringing you the third annual Magical Media Retreat in Anaheim, California!
what is the Magical Media Retreat?
In 2021 Jenny, Kim, and I started talking about planning a retreat or small-scale conference together. It was something we had all wanted to do for a long time and knew we’d need help pulling it off. For those who have been blogging for awhile we hope this overnight retreat will reignite their creative spark. If you’re just starting out we want to help motivate you to make some media magic.

Our 2022 retreat featured Angela Kim and Heather Brooker as our keynote speakers. In 2023 Our keynote speaker was Amber Mamian from Global Munchkins. Both years, attendees have enjoyed discounted room rates, conference sessions, delicious food, team building, and fun swag from our event sponsors. Jenny, Kim, and I are really looking forward to our 2024 retreat!
details of the 2024 Magical Media Retreat
When: February 23-25, 2024
Where: Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort
Price: Tickets are $209, our discounted room rate is $169 for a standard room.
If you’re coming from out of town Orange County Airport (SNA) is the most convenient to the Sheraton Park Hotel. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is another good option. Check in time at the hotel is 4:00 pm on Friday and check out time is noon on Sunday. We are planning an optional group activity on Friday. Any of us three hosts would be happy to suggest activities in the area if you want to extend your trip!
how to save some money
We really wanted to keep this retreat as affordable as possible. We have a discounted room rate at the Sheraton Park Hotel for all attendees of the Magical Media Retreat. Our discount room rate is $169 for a standard room. So make sure your friend purchases a ticket so you can be roommates and save even more money!
what’s included?
You’ll be learning from our keynote speakers, Christian (@seacannon) and Liz (@mrsseacannon) Cannon. Jenny, Kim, and I will also be sharing some advice from our years of blogging as well. We’re really excited to share that Amanda of @captivatingbyamanda will be joining us to take new headshots of all attendees again. You will even have the option of headshots at the hotel or at the Happiest Place on Earth! For fellowshipping opportunities we’ll be enjoying an optional day in Disneyland on Friday (attendees are in charge of their own tickets), dinner on Friday evening at Naples, and a closing reception Saturday evening. Each attendee will also go home with a fun swag bag from our sponsors–the swag from our 2023 event had a higher retail value than our event ticket price!
meet our keynote speakers:
The Cannons are a husband and wife duo of creatives living in Southern California with their 3 kiddos.
Christian is a counselor, turned creative, turned consultant. His journey in the creative world has thrived through his ability to merge his unique perspective with how to best connect with the designated audience. Over the past 10 years, he has loved seeing his role as a father help introduce a new world of content for him to create.
Liz is a former teacher, turned stay-at-home mom. She developed a love for photography when she gave birth to her first tiny little muse named Elouise. As her family grew she became more confident in her skills as a content creator, blogger, and influencer sharing about real life moments of motherhood and family adventures.
Together theyβve had incredible opportunities to work with brands like Disney, Target, and Nike, traveled the world for partnerships with brands like Ford, Walmart, Margaritaville & JW Marriot, supported small businesses with content and strategy, and capture epic memories of their family along the way.
