I can’t believe that we’re already at the beginning of a new year. I love looking back at the year on my blog and seeing how everything performed. It’s also neat to look back and see all the family fun we had! There were lots of great posts in 2022 and I posted a lot more travel content, which was so much fun! For the first time ever travel blog posts dominated my top 10 which made me really excited. These are my best blog posts of 2022, as well as a recap of my goals. It’s been a few years since we visited Legoland in Carlsbad, California. However, those posts continue to dominate on the blog! Coming in at the number 5 spot is my Ultimate Guide to Legoland on the blog.
With my best Schlitterbahn Tips making the top 10, each of my blog posts about the best waterpark in Texas has made the list! I hope you’ll consider planning a trip this year!
I only had one recipe make the top 10 list but it’s a good one! My Sourdough Bread Pudding Recipe is a family favorite and came in to the third spot!
Our eight year old chose to be baptized in 2022. The blog post about her Cotton Candy Baptism Talk and Object Lesson was really popular on the blog. I’m guessing there were lots of delicious baptisms in 2022!
Finally, the blog post that performed the best in 2022 is my comparison of Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Café at the Disneyland Resort in California.

It is really helpful for me to be able to look back at my goals. It helps me stay focused throughout the year on what my blogging priorities should be. Last year’s goals were:
- Double my 2021 pageviews by posting consistently and marketing those posts better, including more pins per post on Pinterest. I did not double my pageviews but I did end up with about 10,000 more pageviews than last year. I actually attribute this mostly to improving my site SEO.
- Reach 2 million impressions on Pinterest by posting more consistently and making more Idea Pins. I did NOT reach this goal by a long shot. I signed up for Tailwind again but Pinterest has changed so much the past couple years the most I was able to reach was 1.2 million.
- Book 6 travel partnerships. I exceeded this goal with 7 travel collaborations, but quite honestly, 2022 was harder for me in terms of working with travel businesses and locations.

These are my blog goals for 2023. As I have decided to focus more on family this year you’ll notice a shift in some of my goals:
- I want to increase my 2022 pageviews by 50,000+ views. I’ll do this by continuing to post consistently (although less frequently) and utilizing Pinterest. I also want to ramp up improvements on my overall site SEO (updating old blog posts, etc.). I’m hoping that cranking out less new content will give me more time so I can work smarter instead of harder.
- Reach 2 million impressions on Pinterest. I’ll try and accomplish this by utilizing Idea Pins and paying attention to my Pinterest analytics and the upcoming trends.
- Book 4 travel partnerships. Truthfully, I got kind of burned out last year with travel partnership requests. Plus, with a new baby coming in May it changes some of our plans we had for spring travel. Lastly, although we’re still planning to travel this year (2023 summer road trip planning is well underway!), we are definitely planning to travel less.
