I don’t know about you, but I love the movie Hocus Pocus. Let’s just say that it makes my momma heart proud to say that my kiddos love the movie just as much as I do. So today I’m celebrating all things Hocus Pocus in honor of the 25th anniversary. Pull up a broomstick (or a vacuum cleaner, wink wink), form a calming circle, and check out this fun Sanderson Sisters supper; I promise it’s more appetizing than the chocolate covered finger of a man named Clark.

For this fun Sanderson sister supper I took each course and created something that was inspired by a Sanderson sister. It’s a quick and fun meal to pull together. However, some steps could be taken ahead of time to help things come together a little easier.

how to prepare a Sanderson Sisters supper

Winnie’s soul sucking potion

In the movie the Sanderson witches are trying to suck the lives out of all of the children of Salem. Our potion is slightly less sinister and doesn’t contain a single dead man’s toe. I simply combined one part juice smoothie with sparkling water. You can use any flavor combinations you’d like. I went for a mango-based drink for the typical orange Halloween color. A fun green smoothie would be a neat color choice too. For extra bonus points, add some dry ice to your concoction and let the gas waft from the glass.

Mary’s shish-ka-babies

When Dani first meets Mary Sanderson and her super sense of smell (for children, of course) it’s a moment she’ll never forget. No worries, these shish kabobs are 100% free from human children and only use chicken for a protein source. To save some time prep the chicken the night before by cutting into small chunks and marinating in Italian dressing. While you’re pre-heating your grill cut up pieces of orange bell pepper and coat in olive oil and grated Parmesan cheese. Alternate between chunks of chicken and bell pepper on your sticks and grill until cooked.

sweet as Sarah cupcakes

Sarah might seem like the sweetest of the Sanderson sisters, but we all know she has a dark side. So do these cupcakes! Bake these cupcakes the say before and frost right before serving to same some time. It might seem like a lot of work to basically prepare brownies and cupcakes. However, since you’re taking a shortcut by using a box mix they still get made in no time–some might say it’s magic.
