During this pregnancy I’ve been drawn to all things National Park and nature. I can’t wait to share all the little baby items I’ve accumulated with you. But, today I’m excited to share a nature-inspired felt garland that I made for the baby’s nursery. Make sure you stick around to the end of the post for a lot more camp-inspired and nature crafts you’ll love!

a nature-inspired felt garland

You’ll probably notice lots of materials I’ve used in previous craft projects. I always try to craft with materials I already own so I don’t have to buy anything new. I was able to make this nature-inspired, National Park felt garland with items I already had in my craft stash! It came together perfectly with leftover felt, wooden beads, wool balls, and jute I already had.

materials needed:

  • felt
  • scissors
  • thread and needle/sewing machine
  • jute
  • felt balls and wooden beads (optional)
  • National Park template (optional)

I wasn’t able to find a free template I liked so I created a quick one in Photoshop. Then I used it to cut out the felt shapes I wanted. I quickly sewed around the edges on my machine, but you could also just sew it up by hand, or cut it out and glue it with fabric glue and forego the sewing all together. To complete the look I opted to add in some wooden beads and felt balls that I had. I just strung them up on jute and it was ready to hang on the wall!
