Holidays in our household are synonymous with eating. Any excuse to enjoy a good meal together, right? Our traditional Easter breakfast is crepes. It’s a meal I grew up looking forward to every Easter and now I carry on the tradition for my own kids! This year I wanted to put together a fun Easter charcuterie board for an extra special brunch. Of course, being a blogger means I had to post this ahead of time so I could take pictures–all in the name of research, of course. Keep reading to see what I included for a special Easter-themed brunch!

what is a charcuterie board?

Despite the recent trend of charcuterie boards over the past couple years, charcuterie boards have actually been around for awhile. Traditionally they are a meat and cheese board, usually with the addition of fruits and nuts. The word charcuterie comes from the French words for flesh (chair) and cooked (cuit). Sounds appetizing, right? Thankfully, today charcuterie boards come in all types and flavors. They’re an easy way to put together a fun and impressive spread for any occasion!

Easter charcuterie board

Of course we had to have crepes for our traditional Easter brunch. But I saw a cute flower pancake maker at the store and couldn’t pass that up either. Along with crepes and pancakes I filled in the extra spaces with all our favorite toppings: syrup, mixed berry compote, hazelnut spread, and creamy honey, to name a few. We finished off our charcuterie boards with fresh fruit, eggs, and sausage. Here’s a little bonus tip–fill in blank spaces on your charcuterie board with fresh flowers!
