One thing I love to do on family vacations is to coordinate some of our outfits with the destination. Theme parks, national parks, it’s always fun to show our love for the place we’re visiting. Plus, it’s fun after the trip to keep wearing a little reminder of the fun we had! Today I’m sharing a fun idea for coordinating shirts—family vacation superlative shirts! This article is not sponsored but some links contain affiliates, all opinions are my own.
family vacation superlative shirts
Last summer on our first cruise together as a family of nine, I saw several fun shirts on embarkation day. “Cruising Together Since…”, “Family Reunion…”, but my favorite shirts were the “Cruise Superlative” shirts. An extended family all sported shirts with various superlatives on the front: “Most likely to kiss the captain,” “Most likely to fall overboard,” etc.
So when my mom approached me before our big Alaskan cruise this summer and mentioned she wanted matching family shirts, I knew exactly what to suggest. And although I did find several Etsy shops with shirts we liked (I’ll link some in a bit), for our group it worked better to make our own.
Here are some of the superlatives we picked for our family: Most likely to…
have the next trip planned
be at the buffet
go with the flow
fill her camera roll
sleep the day away
sing karaoke
party like a pirate
why superlative shirts?
There are so many fun ways you can match or coordinate on a family vacation. But for our trip I wanted to stay away from year or name specific shirts. I wanted us to be able to get a lot of wear out of these shirts. And knowing that I blog and a lot of my life ends up online, I didn’t want my maiden name on pictures online.
It was a lot of fun to think of a superlative for each member of our family that went on the Alaskan cruise this summer. Best of all, we’ve all worn our shirts several times since the cruise.

how I made our family vacation superlative shirts
I purchased shirts in bulk from my favorite website for clothing blanks—jiffy.com (they can also print for you if you don’t have a cutting machine). I also used my brand new Cricut Maker 4 that I bought when my Silhouette machine died after 15 years.
It was really easy to create these shirts and make them with my new Cricut and the heat press! The hardest thing was thinking of a good superlative that fit everyone’s personality and would work for future vacations, not just our cruise.
A lot of the superlative shirts you can find online are more appropriate for adults, and not necessarily kids. That’s one of the main reasons why we decided to make our own.
