Today, I’m sharing a free file so you can print your own postcards. Whether you’re traveling or staying put, your kids can have fun coloring in these postcards and sending them to friends.

do your kids have pen pals?

Last summer while we were on a cliff dwelling tour at Mesa Verde National Park my seven year old daughter really connected with a young boy from another family. By the end of the tour they were friends and we had exchanged addresses. The two have since exchanged a few postcards and letters, it’s been so fun for her!

My oldest daughter also has a couple of out of state friends that she loves to keep in touch with via snail mail. And I would much prefer them exchange letters then spend all their time on phones texting back and forth.

Even with the outrageous cost of stamps these days, I still encourage my kids to write to friends who live far away. It makes kids and young adults feel so special to have mail that comes just for them!
