Our family has had a Get Out membership for several years. Each year we’ve had access to dozens of attractions in our area, some that we can visit once, some we can visit over and over! If you follow me on social media, you’ve probably seen me share some of the fun places we’ve gone with our passes. But if you’re not sure if it’s the right purchase for your family, this is the blog post for you!

what is a Get Out membership?

If you’ve ever wished for a magic key to all the fun in your region—the rides, the zoos, the climbing walls, escape rooms, water parks—a Get Out membership is that key. It’s a digital annual pass that unlocks a whole year of free admission to dozens (sometimes many more!) local attractions in your area. Get Out Pass recently merged with POGO Pass to become a one-stop shop for family fun! Now it’s just known as a GetOut membership.

here’s how it works, broken down in three easy steps:

  1. Buy the Membership. You purchase the GetOut membership for your state or region. You can also pay a little more for certain “premium” add-on locations. When you purchase your membership, you create an account for yourself, as well as any friends or family you bought a pass for.
  2. Pick What to Do. Open up the GetOut app, and browse all the included attractions in your area. When you want to go somewhere, tap that spot in the app—you’re telling the pass, “Yes, I want to go here.”
  3. Show & Go. When you arrive at the attraction, open the app on your phone and show the pass screen to the front-desk or ticketing office. They’ll scan or acknowledge it, and just like that—you’re in!

That’s it. No fumbling for paper tickets, no paying full price every time. Can you say mom win?

what does it cost, and what do you get?

The price varies depending on your location—some places are more expensive because they include big-ticket attractions, while others are more budget-friendly. As previously mentioned, you also have the option to add-on certain venue options to your pass.

The good news is, my code, LITTLEDOVE always gets you a discount, even when they’re already having a sale on their website! Make sure you select the right region that works for your family!

  1. Thank you! Are you saying that I can go to different attractions throughout the year? For example, I can go to LEGOLAND on Monday, and then go to Aquarium on Tuesday, etc…? Or after I picked to go to Legoland, then that would be it for this year membership?

    1. Your Get Out membership for the year gives you access to ALL the places available on your pass–but usually just once per year (some are once a week, or once a month, etc.). So, for example, the Northern California Get Out Membership gives you one admission to the Legoland Discovery Center in the Bay Area, as well as one admission to the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco, etc. It will NOT give you unlimited admission to any place. Hope that helps!
