We recently had a spring vacation to the beach down in Carlsbad, California. It was just what the doctor ordered with plenty of sunshine, fresh air, and catching up with friends and family who live in the area. We visited the beach, swam in the pool, and soaked up maybe too much sun. One of the best parts though was having plenty of room for our family of eight to spread out and unwind at the end of the day. This was our second stay at the Grand Pacific Palisades vacation condos in Carlsbad and today I want to highlight for you some of the reasons why we love it. Our family has stayed at a vast array of motels, hotels, and resorts over the years. I’ve walked into a hotel room that made me cry once (and not in a good way) and I’ve been speechless (in a good way this time) walking into incredible suites. We’ve crowded together in a room with two queen beds with kids sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags and we’ve spread out over two separate villas. I say this to say–it is always nice having a little extra room when you’re on vacation.

Grand Pacific Palisades Resort in Carlsbad offers one, two, and three bedroom condos for any size party you may have. We’ve stayed in a two bedroom condo both times and it has given us plenty of room with a master bedroom, second bedroom with two beds, and sofa bed in the living space. The layout of the vacation condo units were very thoughtfully designed for a family traveling together. The condos have all been recently updated since our last visit and everything was so beautiful! Just another reason why these are some of our favorite vacation condos in Carlsbad!

access to a full kitchen
The condos have a full kitchen which is especially nice when you’re traveling with a large family! Grand Pacific Palisades Resort is located near lots of shopping so it’s convenient to pick up groceries and make your own food. Each morning of our stay we made a quick breakfast and made some sandwiches to take to the beach. Having access to a full kitchen is definitely a time and money saver! Right now with extra cleaning protocols in place we were confident in the cleanliness of the kitchen tools because all the utensils, plates, and cups were sealed in the dishwasher upon our arrival.

resort-style amenities
Not only is Grand Pacific Palisades located near the best that the Carlsbad area has to offer, but they have so much on-site! With a family pool area and splash pad, quiet pool, fire pits, activity center, playground, gym, half court basketball, and more there is plenty to do without even leaving the property! They also offer beach rentals when you’re ready to take a break from the resort fun and hit the sand! We were pleased to see the team at Grand Pacific Palisades making an effort to still provide plenty of fun even while enforcing social distancing and increased safety guidelines.
