DIY Cupcake Liner Flowers

Table of Contents

I know, I know, two DIY posts in a row. But I really wanted to make sure that this fun and simple DIY project went up before Easter weekend. These cupcake liner flowers would be the perfect thing to brighten up your tablescape for Easter brunch or dinner. And one of the great things about this project is that you probably already have everything you need at home!

how to make easy cupcake liner flowers

You want to start by stacking several cupcake liners into each other. The more cupcake liners you use per flower, the more full and better your flowers will look. However, keep in mind that it’s hard to cut through too many liners at once so I recommend using two separate stacks of 3-4 per flower and combining them together.

Flatten out your cupcake liner stacks and then fold similar to if you were cutting out a paper snowflake. Meaning–fold in half twice so that the end result looks like a slice of pizza–a triangle with a rounded bottom. Then decide on what type of petals you want to cut! Once your petals are cut then cut a small hole in the middle of the flower before unfolding. This is where you’ll insert the twig. By the way–gathering twigs for these cupcake liner flowers is a great activity for your kiddos!

materials needed for cupcake liner flowers:

  • colorful cupcake liners
  • small twigs
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • green pipe cleaners (optional)

All that’s left to do at this point is assemble your flowers! combine your two stacks of cupcake liners together and insert your twig in the middle hole. Press and fluff up the “petals” as needed. Use your hot glue gun to apply two small dots of glue and secure the liner to the twig. You can also use green pipe cleaner to make leaves or twist around the twig “stem” if you’d like to. These sweet and simple cupcake liner flowers come together quickly and look great!
