I am so excited to finally be able to share today’s post with you! This master bathroom remodel was a long time coming but both Mike and I are so pleased with how it turned out! Links contain affiliates, all opinions are completely my own.

I know I took a bunch of before pictures but these were the only ones that I could find of our shower area. Basically, we gutted the whole bathroom for this remodel. We had a false wall up that was in place so that the standard tub/shower combo would fit. We ripped that bad boy out and our general contractor (this was not a DIY project!) built a new, giant shower pan. We also added a recessed shelf for some items like shampoo and soap.

We picked a standard, oversized subway tile for the shower walls with a pretty but simple glass mosaic for an accent tile. We picked a black river rock for the floor of the shower. Not only is it a nice contrast but I love the way they feel on my feet, it’s like a foot massage every time I take a shower! For the rest of the bathroom flooring we opted for the same slate tile that we put in our hall bathroom when we remodeled that.

We ripped out the builder grade single vanity and replaced it with a free-standing vanity that not only has two sinks but is much taller than our old one, no more short counter tops, huzzah! We opted to use the same glass mosaic for the backsplash instead of the strip of marble that came with the new vanity.

I also love our new oval mirrors and our light fixtures. I really wanted to keep things classic in here so that not only would we love it while we’re here, but down the road it would appeal to a lot of potential buyers.

For our new, larger shower I knew I wanted two shower heads since the shower was so massive. So now we have a rain shower head that is fantastic (has better water pressure than I would have thought) and another shower head on the side. I love that we can run them both together or separately. We also picked a shower door that has a track along the top. This was a must for me because I hate bottom shower tracks, they always fill with gross gunk and are a pain to clean out.

Our floating corner shelves are another feature I love. I originally wanted floating shelves along the wall across from the vanity, but since we have a pocket door that wall is mostly hollow and our options were limited. Luckily, I found these great corner floating shelves  that are perfect for the space. Then I just pulled a mirror we already had out of the back of a closet and we hung it up on that wall instead. I really love the way it helps the space seem even bigger and brighter.

I really wish we had better natural light in our house because these pictures don’t do the space justice. And the wall color is beautiful too, it’s called Mountain Haze and it’s by Behr. I painted the same color in our master bedroom and I love that both rooms have a cohesive look.

Now, onto finishing our master bedroom remodel up so I can hopefully share that space with your sometime this year, wink wink.
