The final destination for our summer road trip before heading home was Rocky Mountain National Park. For our homebase while we explored this beautiful park was another fun Jellystone Park location. I’m so excited to share all about our stay at Jellystone Park Estes Park, just a short 10 mile drive to the national park entrance. This post is in partnership with Jellystone of Estes Park, all opinions are my own.

where is Jellystone Park Estes Park?
This Jellystone Park campground is located on the outskirts of Estes Park, on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s a beautiful forested setting on a hillside. But don’t worry, if you want assistance getting into your spot they’re happy to help guide you!
things to do in Estes Park
I wish that we had had more than just four nights at Jellystone Estes Park. Since our focus was on spending time in Rocky Mountain National Park–and having fun at the campground of course–we didn’t have a lot of time to explore Estes Park. Which is a shame because there’s so much to do in the area!
- – Take a tour at the infamous Stanley Hotel
- – Visit the Estes Park Visitor Center
- – Walk around downtown Estes Park
- – Experience the Estes Park Aerial Tramway
- – Take a 4×4 or Jeep tour in Rocky Mountain National Park
- – Splash at the Estes Park Community Center pool
- – Boat around the Estes Park Marina
- – Ride the Mustang Mountain Coaster

things to do at Jellystone Park Estes Park
planned activities
There were activities all day long at the campground and we tried to participate in as many as possible! My older girls loved the karaoke night, but ay of the activities that involved meeting new friends was a win–from the foam party to the pool party. Personally, I really enjoyed the game of Candy Bar Bingo we played, especially since my kids ended up winning! You can check the website or download the Jellystone Park app for all the details on campground activities.
themed weekends
We were visiting the campground during their Superhero weekend so a lot of the activities revolved around that theme. There was an outdoor movie on Saturday evening that was superhero themed, as well as fun crafts that went along with the theme during our stay. Other themes throughout the year are Christmas in July, Pirates and Mermaids, and Monster Mash.

swimming pool
This Jellystone Park location features a heated swimming pool near the playground areas. There is free swim most of the day, but there are also sometimes pool parties that get all the campers involved in fun interactions and games. This is a great place to relax after a morning spent hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
more family fun
Near the front of the campground are located the mini golf course, gaga ball pit, and the jumping pillow. This is also where you can find some tasty treats at the Pic-a-Nic Basket–a staple eatery at many Jellystone Park locations. Something that sets this location apart are the vintage firetruck rides that are offered. This is different from the Hey-Hey Rides that you’ll normally find at Jellystone, but definitely just as fun!

When we were on the fire truck ride we were talking to another family who told us they book a cabin for a stay at Jellystone of Estes Park every summer. It’s easy to see why–with the beautiful setting, the perfect location, and the old-fashioned campground feel that makes every camper feel like family. Our entire family loved our stay here and would love to go back in the future!
What do you think about this campground? What activity would your kids be most excited about?
