girl’s camp devotional handouts

Girl's Camp devotional printables. Henry B. Eyring quote.

A month from now I’ll be staying in a yurt in the woods surrounded by a hoard of young women and other leaders. I’ll be a yurt leader for our church’s young woman camp–so basically a babysitter. And although my role is fairly simple, I am looking forward to leading a devotional each evening. Since I was printing up some Girl’s Camp devotional handouts for my girls anyway, I figured I would share them here on the blog as well! I’ve also included links at the bottom of this article with the handouts I ordered. And there are other options for handouts that would work with these devotional printables, too.

The Youth Theme for 2025 for our church is “Look Unto Christ.” So even though our “fun” camp theme is Enchanted Forest, that’s the theme I wanted to go with for these Girl’s Camp devotional handouts. I have two different devotionals and handouts that go along with a “looking” theme, as well as incorporating nature. Girl’s Camp is actually really short for us this year as we were assigned the week of July 4th. That means most campers will only be there for July 1st through the 3rd, so I only needed to prepare two devotionals.

Sunglasses handout and printable for a youth camp devotional idea.

a light themed devotional

The first evening I have sunglasses for each of the girls and this scripture to go along with them:

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?…”

Psalm 27:1

We’ll talk about how looking to Christ can help us stay focused on what really matters. Sunglasses help shield our eyes from the sun so we can see clearly and stay safe (protect our eyes), just as looking unto Christ helps us see life with clarity and faith rather than fear.

other ideas for a handout for a “light” quote or scripture:

  • – mini flashlights
  • – battery operated candles
  • – glowsticks
  • – glow in the dark stars

a mountain themed devotional

For the second night’s devotional I have a simple mountain necklace for each of the girls. To go along with each necklace I have the following quote printed up:

“If you are on the right path, it will always be uphill. The Lord is anxious to lead us to the safety of higher ground.”

Henry B. Eyring

For this devotional we’ll talk about how sometimes the right path in life isn’t the easiest one. However, I have personally found that God’s plans for us are always better than our own. Mountains symbolize drawing closer to God, just as prophets like Moses and Nephi ascended mountains to receive revelation. When we “look unto Christ,” He strengthens us to climb the mountains in our lives.

other ideas for a handout for a “mountain” quote or scripture

  • – mountain or nature stickers
  • – carabiners
  • – Cliff bars (if your camp allows food in cabins)

I’m hoping the girls love these devotionals and that they add a meaningful touch to their girl’s camp experience.
