I still remember picking out my class valentines in elementary school. It was so fun to go with my mom to the store and wander up and down the Valentine’s Day aisle trying to decide on the perfect theme for that year’s classroom valentines. There were also a few years that I can remember making my own valentines. My mom brought out all of her construction paper and paper doilies and I went to town with my scissors and glue. Now, as a parent myself, it’s something I still love doing. Asking my kiddos what they want to gift that year to their classmates and putting a personal touch on it. I had a lot of fun making this “main squeeze” valentine this year for my first grader, and I hope your kids love them too!

If your kids are anything like mine they are slightly obsessed with squishes. I have to admit–as the modern-day stress ball of generation Alpha–I don’t really get the appeal of them. The squishy-ness of them kind of weirds me out. And some of them even make really unpleasant noises when you squish them. Ugh. Of course, for some reason those are the ones my kids seem to love the most. Le sigh.

However, as I was walking through the seasonal aisle with my girls in tow (as my son is in high school this year and “too cool” for such things) I stumbled upon these. And I knew, I just knew, that my first grader would love these Kisses-shaped mini squishes. Plus, at less than $3 for a box of 12, they were really well priced! Of course, I also had to create a simple printable tag to go along with them, which you can grab for free below!
