Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Mine was busy but oh-so-good. I helped throw another baby shower on Saturday and it was so fun! I’ve been very excited to share this adorable little peanut baby shower with y’all! And, I have a fun idea for an easy baby shower activity incorporating Huggies® Little Snugglers diapers later in the post. This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are completely my own.

details for a little peanut baby shower

I love planning a baby shower–there are always so many fun details to think of! This little peanut baby shower especially had a lot cute (and delicious) design elements, activities, and treats.

You already saw my “little peanut” pallet sign a couple weeks ago. I also made a sewn paper garland and a rag scrap banner incorporating the pink and gray color scheme. Those are some of my go-tos for party decorating because it’s so easy to make them to fit any scheme.

I found some cute pink and gray elephant onesies to add to a garland and use as decor too. I did have a little sad moment as I realized how much my own baby has grown in the past 7 months. Fresh flowers finished up the simple, but impactful, baby shower decor.

baby shower games and activities

I kept to the little peanut baby shower theme with a “guess how many peanuts in the jar” game. Personally, I like passive games like that at a shower. It allows guests to do things at their own pace and still feel like they have time to chat.

Another passive activity we had was a cute Little Snuggler Notes activity. The great thing about this was that not only was it an easy activity to pull together, but it’s also a great gift for the mom-to-be!

Of course, every new mom needs lots of diapers. So, in addition to making a diaper cake, I created a fun activity that would be perfect for any baby shower! I don’t know about you, but I find that sometimes changing diapers can get a bit, um, tedious. Especially in the middle of the night when you’re exhausted and accidentally put the new diaper on over the dirty diaper. Not that I have ever done that. Nope.

I love this activity because it’s simple to put together and it’s practical. After all, what new mom doesn’t need all the diapers she can get?! Just make sure you supply plenty of diapers and some markers for writing with. Let your guests know that the objective is to write either some words of encouragement or something funny to chuckle over in the “wee” hours of the morning, hehe… I crack myself up.

For this activity I picked up several packages of Huggies® Little Snugglers, sizes NB-2 from my local Walmart. I was also able to pick up some Huggies® Natural Care Wipes. These wipes have the TripleClean Layers that I love because they are perfect for my baby’s sensitive skin. However, they’re still tough enough to get the job done! Mike and I have even gotten in the habit of tearing each one in half and it still holds up to the toughest, um, situations.

I also printed up a little sign that read, “leave a little note on a Little Snuggler for a little peanut” to help tie everything into the shower theme. Then, once the shower was over, I packaged up the diapers and wipes for the new mom-to-be. I made sure to put them in a basket that the momma could use to store things in her nursery!

  1. I've always loved the idea of writing notes on the diaper—I think it's so clever and I'm sure can be an instant pick-me-up during some of those never-ending newborn days. If we have another baby, and if I somehow get another shower, I may request that 🙂

Also, I LOVE the garland. Do you sell them?!

  2. I love this theme for a baby shower! We played this diaper "game" at a shower I went to a while back and it was so cute! A lot of people wrote funny things for the mother to read during the night and she loved actually using them once her baby arrived.

  3. What a beautiful and memorable baby shower! This is the first time I've ever heard of leaving little notes on diapers and I think it's adorable. I could have used a giggle while I changed diapers overnight and my husband and kids were snoozing away. #client

  4. This is so cute lol I actually went to one of my best friend's baby shower Saturday but she is allergic to peanuts so this wouldn't have went well. It was probably the most fun I've had at a baby shower ever!

  5. Great shower! You're so creative. I've never thrown a shower but have been to several. My favorite game is always don't say baby. I always win 🙂

  6. This is such a cute theme! I absolutely love the rag scrap banner–I'm planning to try and make one for my sons first birthday next month, fingers crossed it looks as cute as yours! The diaper idea is such a good one too.
