This Sunday I’ll be introducing the song “The Family is of God” during singing time. To help the kids learn this new song, I wanted to make a little flipbook with some pictures and the lyrics. That way, the children could take it home with them to review and maybe share it with their families. You can grab your free printable for “The Family is of God” flipbook below, and learn how to assemble it!

In middle school I had a math teacher who had us make these little flipbooks at the end of every unit of review. They’re really fun and easy to make, and the small size makes them quite handy for learning new concepts or reviewing past lessons! I designed this flipbook using pictures are from churchofjesuschrist.org and I am pretty pleased with how quickly it came together!

flipbook instructions:
- First, fold in half lengthwise, “like a hot dog” (remember that term from school days?)
- Unfold and fold in half the short way, “like a hamburger”. Then cut a slit down the middle fold line, halfway across.
- This part is kind of hard to explain and show, but then you want to unfold it, and refold it lengthwise. Then fold it into itself, like an accordion.
- Do the final fold, so that “The Family is of God” is on the front, and the final verse should be on the back. All done!

I did it! If anyone else needs to be educated on how to make this into a little booklet I found an instructable here http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-One-Sheet-of-Paper-Book/
Justine, You are amazing! Thanks so much for developing this and being willing to share it! I linked to this post in a primary music leaders facebook page.
LOVE this! Thank you so much!!
This is so awesome! What a great tool to teach them this 4 verse song!
This is great, thanks for sharing!
I got confused with the Instructable instructions Kerry Andrus gave a link for. I'm not sure where to cut the paper and how to push it together to form a book.
Ok…I love this but I can't figure out the instructions on how to fold this to make a book….any one know a better set of instructions to fold?
Thanks for adding that link!
I've gone back and updated the post to include some instructions. Hopefully they make sense! 🙂
Sorry I didn't add instructions to begin with! I've added some, let me know if you have more trouble!
Thanks for sharing it with others!
