Last month during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season I was able to take a Saturday morning off from responsibilities and attend a special screening of Paddington 2 with my family. I don’t want to give any spoilers to the movie, except for one–we all loved it! All of us from my husband down to my two year old were laughing out loud. Read on for more about the movie and a recipe for yummy brown sugar and marmalade thumbprint cookies that Paddington would be sure to approve of. This marmalade cookies recipe and review post are in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures and STUDIOCANAL, in association with Anton Capital Entertainment S.C.A.

Paddington 2

For those of you that haven’t seen the first Paddington Bear, I don’t think you you’d be lost because you get a nice recap of everyone at the very beginning. It’s even done quite organically in the storyline, which I appreciate. It’s one of those movies where you just love all the characters too. Every actor breathes so much life and personality into their character. One of my favorites was Hugh Grant. His part was so different than the roles I’m used to seeing him play and it was really great to see how much range he has as an actor.

One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when Paddington does the laundry at the prison. Yes, there is major foreshadowing and you know what’s about to happen, but it doesn’t make it any less hilarious! I love how over-the-top theatrical the parts in the prison are. I definitely think that it helps to make it less scary for anyone in the audience who might be more sensitive.

All in all, I would definitely recommend Paddington 2 as a great film to take the entire family to. There are heart warming and hilarious moments that everyone will enjoy.

Brown sugar and marmalade thumbprint cookies

Of course, after seeing Paddington 2 with my family I was inspired by everyone’s favorite bear. We wanted to make something with marmalade that he would be sure to love. I’ve used marmalade in savory dishes before, but I’d surprisingly never made anything sweet with marmalade. I decided that some brown sugar and marmalade thumbprint cookies were in order. These helped us celebrate the release of the movie!
