September month in numbers review

Wow, wow, wow. I can’t believe that it’s already October. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that I was recapping our cruise, or going to Vegas for our 10 year anniversary. Yet here we are, September is done and we only have a few months left of the year.

The first Monday of the month means that it’s time for another month in review post and I’ll be linking up with Deena from Shoes to Shiraz for her fun monthly recap linkup!

September by numbe, month in review

2 times that we called the tow truck

Oh my gosh y’all, the last couple of months I have really had it up to here with our vehicles. Oil changes, new tires, brake troubles, a new belt, a new starter, A/C  issues… between our two cars I’m starting to think that it’s time we went back to the horse and buggy mode of conveyance. Also, it should be noted that those two times were just over an eight day span. Ugh.

2,526 miles driven & 8 states

We finished our epic road trip at the beginning of the month and we actually covered more miles than the month beforehand since we took a different route home. Surprisingly after two weeks in a car together, living in hotel rooms, and dealing with an unexpected  tow truck adventure we’re still planning for our next family adventures. I guess we are gluttons for punishment.

6 blog posts

In a way I almost feel proud of this number. A few months ago when I decided to go down to two blog posts a week (rather than three) I wasn’t sure how I really felt about it. I’ve realized though that it’s been such a blessing for me. I love blogging but it can be so time consuming and I felt like my life was all out of balance and I was focusing on the wrong things too much. So I’ve been very pleased with how much better it’s been for my family and myself to only post twice a week. But when we left on our big family road trip I decided I wasn’t going to stress out about trying to even get my two posts up. So instead of eight or nine posts I only had six, and to my shock the world did not stop spinning. If any of my blogger friends out there are feeling overwhelmed then just cut back a little bit, seriously, life changing.

20 instagram posts

My Instagramming didn’t seem to suffer due to our trip, when compared with August this is actually a few more. Which probably says more about my birthday month than it does about September. One of those Instagram posts was the announcement that our Friday Fellowship chat was back but this time we put a little spin on it and shared it on our InstaStories. We had so much fun chatting with y’all and we look forward to hosting again soon! Let one of us know if anyone wants to co-host.

1 big announcement

Obviously the most exciting post I shared on all my social media platforms last month was my pregnancy announcement! All of the love and congratulations that we’ve received are so sweet and so very appreciated. I will definitely be sharing more about my pregnancy in the future, but I also promise that I won’t go overboard with baby and bump updates.

9 days of on-site classes & 12 days of homeschool

Well, nine days of classes for my older two, my three year old only had Preschool twice a week so she’s only been six times. I’ve talked a lot about homeschooling but just for clarification, my kids are under a Charter school but we don’t attend the Charter site. Instead we use our education funds and have them attend a closer tutoring site three days a week. It’s a little confusing but basically look at it like a private school or Charter school that’s open three days a week. Then the other days I teach them at home and I also supplement teaching on days they attend their site. Because of our trip they started a week late but they seem to have adjusted well; and technically I’ve been doing schoolwork with them at home since the second week of August and we even took work on our trip that I had them do in the car.

How was your September? Can you believe it’s already October??

I love this post! I am not big on math usually but it makes you truly understand what bloggers go through x

Congratulations on your big announcement! So exciting! It sounds like you had a busy month. You drove a LOT of miles- wow!

What a full month! And a mess about the cars! I love the home school idea – I’m thinking about home schooling for preschool, so I always enjoy hearing what others are doing!

First off, CONGRATS on the pregnancy!!! Secondly, I love this!! The idea of a post for the previous month is such a keepsake post, you will look back on this years from now and be able to remember the month exactly! Also, sorry about the car troubles…how frustrating!

Girl. I am so done with cars! our sunroof exploded on the freeway… our fuse something or other went out in our other car… It’s been a month I’ll tell you that!

I still can’t believer you’re pregnant. lol. I love that you do a sort of combo-homeschool; there really are no rules when it comes to homeschooling your kids, you just do what works for you family and enjoy the learning! love it. Also YES to cutting back. I find that I give such a better quality (with words and other things) when I keep it simple and small.

Looks like you had a busy month! I can’t believe you were able to get in so many homeschool days with a trip!

We couldn’t afford to send our son to preschool this year so we are doing some “homeschool” here each day (he even has a little desk) and I actually don’t hate!! Congrats on the new baby too!

I’m still in awe that you guys did a two week roadtrip, especially knowing that you were pregnant! Although 2nd trimester does seem to ease up a bit on the sickness and exhaustion. A little, haha. And I’m totally there with you on doing less blog posts. This month I committed to more than I should have so I’m doing more than I want to but over the summer I only got out 4-6 posts each month and it was such a nice break!

Sounds like a great month! Congrats again on your big announcement! Your road trip sounded like a great experience for your family. I always think it’s good to take a step back from blogging when you need too. 2 posts a week is still a good number.
