Well, I’m home from my epic family road trip (you can check it all out over on Instagram) and trying to adjust back to “normal” life, whatever that is. Momming, schooling, cleaning, cooking, blogging… it’s been nice to get back into our routine a little bit but coming off from a vacation high is always a little tough.
I can’t believe that we’re already almost halfway through September, it seemed to go especially fast since we were traveling for the first third of it. But I digress, there’s going to be plenty of time to share all about our trip later, now it’s time to take a look back on August in my monthly review in numbers post!
I had one camping trip with Mike at the beginning of the month. It was really an assignment with our church to help out with a youth pioneer reenactment activity, but we ended up being able to set up our tent in a really beautiful spot down by the river and it was a nice way to wake up on my birthday for sure. Speaking of which–I celebrated 32 years and it felt pretty good, I guess I’m not at the point where I’m feeling sad about birthdays yet. My little baby girl had her birthday just a few days after mine and she loved all the attention when we were singing to her. She is such a sunshine in our lives.
August was also full of typical summer activities, lots of consuming of ice pops (hey, we are a family of six after all) during our hot days. We also bought a boat and were able to sneak in a couple of boat days even amidst all the craziness that happened this month. It really was a busy month, somehow busier than the rest of the summer.
All that craziness ended with the beginning of our two week long roadtrip. Even though we didn’t leave until Monday the 28th we still somehow managed to drive over 2,000 miles and cross 5 states before the month was over. I’ll be writing up more about our trip this month and I’m excited to share all the details with you!
