This post is sponsored by Sacs Garage Door Repair. I received discounted product and services in exchange for my honest review of their company. As always, all opinions are completely my own, I never recommend companies that I don’t love!
It’s funny how we’re so enthusiastic over certain home improvements, but not others. Everyone always seems to get overly excited to see a kitchen remodel or new flooring, but how often do you hear someone say, “hey, we got new toilets, want to come check them out?!” Okay, actually we were pretty excited to get new toilets after we moved into our home, but we’re kind of home improvement weirdos like that.
I’ll bet that such is the case with your garage door. I mean, it’s a big door that you drive in and out of. And if you’re an influencer then you likely take lots of photos in front of it, wink wink. But for the most part, as long as it’s functional that’s probably all you care about, right? Well, unfortunately ours wasn’t even functional anymore. It gave up the ghost last Fall but we were in the midst of another big project (our master bath remodel which I will hopefully be sharing soon!) and then we had the holidays, and our cruise, and well, life just seems to always get in the way, doesn’t it?
So when Sacs Garage Door Repair reached out to me to see if we were in need of any garage door repair I jumped at the chance! Some might call it fate, I call it a huge blessing that we really needed. Truly, you don’t realize how important a functioning garage door is until you live without one for several months and have to tote four children in and out of cars through the wettest winter season California has seen in several years.
From the beginning it was a pleasure to work with the professionals at Sacs Garage Door Repair. Mike and are such do-it-yourselfers (or “have your general contractor father help you out”ers) that it was a little strange to turn a home improvement job over to someone else, but dealing with replacing a garage door isn’t something we would want to take on ourselves anyway.
The first order of business was setting up an appointment for them to come out (they serve the greater Sacramento area) and measure everything so we could discuss our garage door options. Mike and I already knew the size of our door since we’d done some research on doors, but I really appreciated Sacs attention to detail. The initial consultation was pretty short, their representative measured quickly and then we sat down while he explained the different doors they offered and additional features that you could add to your door (such as insulation or windows). In the end we opted for a fairly simple door, just a white long panel door without windows or insulation. If our garage were insulated I definitely would have gotten the door insulated to help our home be more energy efficient, but it’s not so we chose to save the money. I also like the fact that if we had chosen to get windows we could have switched out the plain glass for obscured glass at no extra charge, I think that’s a really nice extra!
Once Mike and I made a decision about a door Sacs was able to schedule an appointment to come the very next week to install it. You can imagine that after living without a functioning garage door for months, that seemed incredibly fast to me! When we were researching garage doors on some of the big box store websites it was going to take nearly 6 weeks after ordering just to receive a door. I was so excited when the big day came, and after only a couple of hours the new door was up and working beautifully; they even hauled the old door away for us!
If you’re in the Sacramento area I highly recommend Sacs Garage Door Repair for any garage door or opener maintenance that you might need. They even offer locksmith services for your home or vehicle! They offer 24 hour emergency service and their great reviews across the web speak for themselves. You can read their reviews on:
