Favorite Things Party 2016

Table of Contents

Last week I hosted my third annual Favorite Things party. I think this was my favorite year yet! In the past some of my friends and I have gotten together for a fun girl’s night in. We eat yummy food and exchange some of our favorite things. I’ve also thrown a craft into the mix some years since crafting is indeed one of my favorite things. This year I took things up a notch and the results were so fun! I received some items at a discount and some links contain affiliates. All opinions are my own.

this year’s event

A few months ago I started thinking about how fun it would be to host a little pop-up boutique. Then I realized that this might be the perfect addition to my annual favorite things party! I contacted a local LuLaRoe consultant and my friend who sells LipSense–both things I really do love! Then I talked my mom who is a certified doTERRA Aromatouch therapist into coming to do massages.

Of course I had to put together some swag bags for all the ladies to take home along with their favorite things. I love food so I included some of my favorite homemade seedless boysenberry jam and cute California sugar cookies from Sugar Sweetery. For more cute fall fun I included a printable from Rebecca at SIMPLEPRESS, a mini banner from Heidi at HydeHeidikins, and a Rocksbox code to share my newest obsession.

how does a favorite things party work?

If you’ve never been to a favorite things party here’s the format of the ones I throw–think of one of your favorite things that costs less than $5. For example, this year some people brought Bath and Body Works soap, mugs, facial masks, and cookie butter. Then you bring three of that item and draw names at the party. Everyone gets up and briefly shares what the item is and why they love it, then the three names you drew get that item.

I contacted my friend Rebecca with SIMPLEPRESS (who also did my blog rebrand) to design a printable party pack for me and after discussing colors and themes with her I love what she came up with! I also love that Justine from Sugar Sweetery was able to recreate the leaf and acorn pattern on the California cookies she made for the swag bags, they turned out so cute (and they were pretty tasty too).

the day of the party

I was able to get things set up early enough that I could get some pictures while it was still light out. However, once people started arriving I was basically on the go all evening. I’m so bummed I didn’t get a picture of the vendors’ set-ups!

As far as food, I keep things simple just with a few treats. I also ask all the attendees to bring one of their favorite snacks!
